Srilanka Beaches

Sri Lanka is an island country and naturally has many beaches to its credit. The tropical beaches here are a great delight to the tourists and are variously included in the several Sri Lanka packages. Some of the popular beaches of Sri Lanka are

Negombo- The Negombo beach in the Negombo town is located at a close distance from Colombo and is a much preferred beach destination of Sri Lanka. The town used to be atrading port of the Dutch and the Portuguese.

Mount Lavinia- Mount Lavinia is a great place for beach and is famous for its “Golden mile beaches” You could get a good night life here with pubs and eateries. It is a modern business city now with a largely middle class population.

Kalutara- This is a resort town located about 40 kms from Colombo. It has a fine beach which is very popular with tourists and the town is also famous for its bamboo baskets and mats.

Beruwela- Beruwela is located south of Colombo and is famous as the starting point of the 130 Km stretch of beach. There are a lot of beautiful resorts and eateries in Beruwela which makes it very attractive for tourists.
